County of Ventura VENTURA, Calif. – Two sewer lines damaged by recent rainstorms have been repaired, but not before leaking around 14 million gallons of sewage into the Ventura River and surrounding beaches causing ongoing closures. The Ojai Valley Sanitary District was able to complete temporary repairs to two damaged sewer lines and stop the associated leaks on Jan. 12. Ocean water samples have been taken to determine the extent of the impact and if area beaches meet state standards for reopening.
