Firefighters from the seven agencies serving Ventura County paid tribute to fallen colleagues during an annual ceremony at the Ventura County Government Center on Wednesday morning.The group gathered at the Fallen Firefighters Memorial, a granite statue standing 7 feet tall. Some 51 names are engraved on the memorial wall. The statues honors firefighters who died in the line of duty, whether from injuries or job-related illness."We are fortunate that no new names are being added to the list of the fallen this year," Ventura County Fire Chief Dustin Gardner said in a statement.
