Neighborhoods throughout Simi Valley can join thousands of communities nationwide in the 40th annual National Night Out crime and drug prevention event Tues., Aug. 1. From 6 to 9 p.m. residents are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. The event will take place at the Simi Valley police station, 3901 Alamo St., and will have food vendors, family activities, information booths, a K-9 demonstration and representatives from law enforcement agencies and public safety partners.
