An insect carrying the Huanglongbing, also known as the HLB disease and citrus greening has been found on a residential citrus tree in Ventura County, according to the California Citrus Pest and Disease Prevention Program. This the first time that the insect called the Asian Citrus Psyllid was detected in Ventura County. The disease the insect carries is a tree killer for all citrus home and commercial and has no known cure. According to the California Citrus Pest and Disease Prevention Program, the psyllid takes the bacteria into its body when it feeds on bacteria-infected plants.
